Architecture of a New Generation of Remote Sensing Ground Segments

چکیده
Due to the huge volume and high complexity of remote sensing data, the management of image archives demands high level representation of information. Augmentation of the data with meaning is a key issue for the success of query processes, and has to include the model of user’s understanding. The information retrieval process is split up into two steps: objective information extraction and semantic representation. These concepts are applied for the design of a new generation of remote sensing ground segment systems.

3D Modelling of Under Ground Burried Objects Based on Ground Penetration Radar
There is a growing demand for mapping and 3D modelling of buried objects such as pipelines, agricultural hetitage, landmines and other buried objects. Usually, large scale and high resolution maps from these objects are needed. Manually map generation and modeling of these objects are cost and time consuming and is dependent on lots of resources. Therefore, automating the subsurface mapping and...
متن کاملLow Cost UAV-based Remote Sensing for Autonomous Wildlife Monitoring
In recent years, developments in unmanned aerial vehicles, lightweight on-board computers, and low-cost thermal imaging sensors offer a new opportunity for wildlife monitoring. In contrast with traditional methods now surveying endangered species to obtain population and location has become more cost-effective and least time-consuming. In this paper, a low-cost UAV-based remote sensing platform...
متن کاملNational Remote Sensing Image Archives
Conventional query techniques for remote sensing image archives as they are available from various satellite data providers are reviewed. The Swiss National Remote Sensing Image Archive is currently being installed at the Swiss Center for Scientific Computing (CSCS/SCSC) and a status report will be given. In parallel with classical query and retrieval possibilities, content-based image search b...
متن کاملBenthic Biotopes Remote Sensing Using Single Beam Acoustics on the South Coast of the Qeshm Island, the Persian Gulf
The study presents the result of a new attempt for benthic biotopes remote sensing in the southern coast of the Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf. This survey site covers approximately 233 km2 in water depth between five and 25 m. Bathymetric data was derived from the single beam survey and grab stations, underwater video and photos were undertaken as ground-trusthing. The acoustic results showe...
متن کاملStudy of the snowmelt effects on surface and ground water in the Bahar basin using remote sensing data
According to recent Studies, about 60 percent of surface waters and 57 Percent ground waters are located in snowy zones in Iran. In most areas of northern hemisphere and alpine environment areas, snow melt lead to the maximum instantaneous flow rate and is an important part of annual discharge. The present study investigated the effect of snowmelt on the surface waters and ground waters in B...
